The public is invited to attend a Transportation Town Hall Meeting on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at the Senior Community Center.  There are big issues for San Leandro residents – the condition of the streets is one of the largest concerns.  City and County staff are hosting a community meeting to address these issues and look for solutions.  The focus of this Town Hall Meeting will be the state of transportation in San Leandro and future funding opportunities, such as Measure B 1, the half-cent sales tax proposal on the November 2012 ballot.  The public will have an opportunity to provide input on these issues as well as the AC Transit Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) bus station design.

Bring your neighbors and join the City of San Leandro, the Alameda County Traffic Commission, AC Transit, and Bay Area Rapid Transit representatives at this informative event.

"Residents have been telling us of their concerns about the condition of their streets as well as the future of transportation, such as the BART station and the BRT issue," stated Mayor Stephen Cassidy.  “I encourage everyone to bring a neighbor, come out and learn more and help create the solutions that will be part of the future of our community – transportation is an important issue that impacts everyone.”

Prior to this meeting, the City Council will preview the state of the City's roads at a City Council Work Session scheduled for Monday, September 24, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall in the Council Chambers. The public is welcome to come to both events.
