INVESTIGATING DETECTIVE(S):  Det. Barajas

SUSPECT: Kenneth Havneraas, 50 year old male, Hayward resident

DETAILS:

On 05-22-12 approximately 1:20PM, Narcotics Detectives detained Havneraas in the 1900 block of Davis St, after obtaining a search warrant for his person, vehicle, residence, and a warehouse located at 2481 Washington Blvd.

Members of the San Leandro Narcotics Unit served the search warrant at 2481 Washington Ave.  The building located at this address (warehouse) had been turned into an illegal marijuana cultivation facility.  After executing the warrant, detectives located 523 marijuana plants and approximately 7 pounds of processed marijuana.  Based on the size of the illegal grow, it had the potential to yield approximately $540,000.00 in product (street value). Detectives searched Havneraas’ residence in the 800 block of Cherry Way, Hayward, and located $68,500 in cash, three handguns and four vials of suspected anabolic steroids. Detectives believe that Havneraas had been operating the illegal grow for approximately four months and that the money located were proceeds from the illegal sale of marijuana.

Lt. Tudor said “This operation was elaborate, highly sophisticated and produced large amounts of product and money.  What’s becoming all too prevalent are the weapons these individuals are possessing making these operations extremely dangerous for law enforcement and the community.”
