Join our Library program assistants and work on your needle craft project (knitting, crocheting, embroidering, quilting, cross stitching, etc.) while discussing books, travel and movies! The Needle Crafters, sponsored by the San Leandro Library, is an informal, fun gathering to meet and make new friends and relax at the Library. So if you are a beginner and want to learn, this club is just for you! This group meets year round, except on holidays.

Kids in grades 1 to 6 can practice their reading with a friendly teen volunteer. This program takes place in the Children's Library.

Please call 577-3960 to sign up for a 25 minute time slot one week in advance of each date. Please note that children under age 10 must be accompanied at the library by a caregiver.

FREE Drop-In Art Project for Families at the Mulford Branch Library!

Families are invited to a free, drop-in art workshop on Monday, June 27 and July 25 from 6pm-7pm. Alison from the Art School at Mulford Gardens will lead some special crafts; kids of all ages are welcome. No registration required, just drop in and get creative! Questions? Please call 577-7976.

Rhymes, songs and books for ages 0 to 12 months

*space is limited to 15 families
Enjoy focused time with your baby (pre-walkers ages 0 to 12 months) during this short session. We’ll sing songs, learn easy movement activities, and explore board books, followed by time to play/bond with your baby and talk with other parents and caregivers. Bring a blanket if you’d like. If you have a baby and a toddler/preschooler, please attend our toddler storytime or preschool storytime instead. This program is funded by First 5 Alameda County through a neighborhood partnership grant.
