Siempre Verde Park Grand Opening & Ribbon Cutting

The City of San Leandro is hosting a community event celebrating the grand opening of Siempre Verde Park on Saturday October 1st from 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM. The event will feature free activities for the whole family and a ribbon cutting ceremony.

TODDLER STORYTIME: Stories, rhymes and romps for ages 1-3

Just the right pace for you and your totally nonstop toddler up to age 3, we’ll enjoy stories, songs and active rhymes, followed by a play time. We offer duplicate sessions at 9:30am and 10:30am, so please choose just one to attend.

PRESCHOOL STORYTIME: Stories, songs and play for preschoolers (and up)

Designed for children ages 3-6, our preschool storytime features longer picture books, plus plenty of flannel boards, puppets and songs. We explore a different theme each week with books and crafts to help with emerging literacy and fine motor skills, followed by a play time. The Manor Branch offers a duplicate preschool storytime at 10:30am on Thursdays

2:30 PMDub Club

Teens in grades 6-12, join us at the Main Library every Wednesday that school is in session for Dub Club!

Dub Club is from 2:30-4:30 pm and is a place where you can hang with your friends, have a snack, and play video games! Free event, new teens must sign our behavior guidelines to attend.

7:00 PMHuman Services Commission
The Human Services Commission (HSC) identifies social needs in the community and recommends to the City Council possible ways to meet those needs, evaluates and encourages the provision of social services in the City, assists social services agencies with fundraising, and reviews requests for City financial support to social service agencies. The HSC has nine members who serve four-year terms. The HSC meets the fourth Wednesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. in the Sister Cities Gallery at City Hall.

Based on our preschool storytime, this evening program offers terrific books, songs and rhymes for kids of all ages to enjoy. The Friends of the San Leandro Library are proud to announce their upcoming Fall Book Sale. The sale will be huge, offering a fantastic selection of over 10,000 quality books at bargain prices.

By joining the Friends of the Library, you may attend the “Members Preview” during the first two hours of the book sale and get the best pick of the books. Join the Friends of the San Leandro Library today by applying for either an individual membership which is $10 or a family membership which is $15. You may register or renew your membership at the door on the day of the sale or you can pick up a membership application at the Main Library.

Help celebrate the 130th birthday of the Statue of Liberty! Best for ages 5 and older .All children must be accompanied by an adult. Registration opens on Sept. 18. Call the library at 577-7971 to register.
