Requests for Proposals for Three Development Sites

On November 28, 2016, the Successor Agency to the Redevelopment Agency of the City of San Leandro issued Requests for Proposals (RFP) for three properties currently available for development.  All three properties are high impact opportunities adjacent to ongoing or upcoming parallel development:  

Town Hall Square - six publicly owned parcels (0.68 acre) located at E. 14th and Davis Streets

Fire Station 11 - one publicly owned parcel (0.36 acre) located at 2101 Marina Boulevard

Parrott & Washington - two publicly owned parcels (0.42 acre) located at 268 Parrott Street and 1595 Washington Avenue

A pre-application open house for the Town Hall Square site will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2016, at 4:00 PM in the Sister Cities Gallery at the San Leandro Civic Center, 835 E. 14th Street.

Economic Development News and Updates

On March 14, 2016 Business Development staff presented an Economic Development Update to the City Council, providing and overview of recent economic activity and trends, as well as the impact of ongoing and future developments in San Leandro.  To view the presentation, click HERE.   The presentation included a video from East Bay Manufacturing Day, which can be viewed separately HERE.

On December 16, 2013 the City Council adopted an Economic Development Strategy and Work Plan (Strategy) to guide the economic growth and development of the City of San Leandro.  The Strategy includes a snapshot of San Leandro's economy and outlines the nine initiatives designed to create a positive environment for investment in our economy.

The City of San Leandro Community Development Department recently launched San Leandro Next, a blog and social media initiative to provide news and updates on economic development and innovation. Postings will include news on new business openings, updates on major development projects, and ongoing progress reports as we work to build an innovation ecosystem in San Leandro.
