The Community Development Department is committed to the Open for Business Pledge, which is designed to provide excellence in responsiveness and support for City residents and businesses. The department houses the City's One-Stop Permit Center, where professional staff are available to answer questions and assist with permit needs. Provides business assistance services to promote retention and expansion of existing businesses and attraction of new industry. The division also administers redevelopment activies.

Administers the City's share of federal CDBG funds for use in community development projects, as well as HOME and Redevelopment Set-Aside funds that are allocated for housing programs and projects. The division also provides staff support to the Rent Review Board.
