Downtown TOD Strategy Overview
The City of San Leandro in 2007 completed a Downtown Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) Strategy with the assistance of grants from the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) and the Alameda County Transportation Improvement Authority (ACTIA). A Downtown TOD Citizen Advisory Committee was also appointed by the City Council to assist in the development of the TOD.
The goal of the TOD Strategy is to foster transit-oriented development and to revitalize downtown San Leandro. The TOD includes comprehensive land use policies as well as detailed land use maps that reflect the benefits of enhanced bus service through the downtown and improved connectivity to the BART system. Selected opportunity sites for future development are also identified. See the links below to access the final report and background documents.
