Welcome to the Office of the City Clerk! The City Clerk reports to the City Manager and serves a liaison between the City Council and members of the public. The City Clerk serves as a conduit to assist the community members in participating in local government and in making informed decisions. The City Clerk ensures all council actions are in compliance with Federal, State and Local laws and all actions are appropriately executed, recorded and archived. The City Clerk’s office is responsible for a wide range of duties and primarily include agenda management and distribution, recording Council actions at meetings; responding to public requests for information, coordinating the City Records Management Program and coordinating the broadcast of the City Council agenda and other public service announcements on the government access channel.
The City Clerk’s office is located on the second Floor of City Hall, 835 E. 14th Street, San Leandro, CA 94577. Our office hours are Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
The City Clerk's Office is responsible for: Performing duties as required under the Political Reform Act and regulations of the Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC), including maintaining the filings of the Form 700 - Statement of Economic Interests and campaign disclosure statements.
City boards and commissions are an important part of the democratic process. They were established to advise the City Council and provide ongoing input into policies and issues that affect the future of the San Leandro community. Those who seek membership on a board or commission must be a San Leandro resident and must submit an application for consideration. All board and commission meetings are open to the public and copies of agendas are available at least 72 hours prior to any regularly scheduled meeting.
