To enhance the San Leandro Police Department's level of customer service, Crime Prevention Specialists have been assigned to provide crime prevention education to our residents and business community. Please click here to see the various programs on crime prevention and crime awareness which are provided to neighborhood groups and crime victims to ensure that they know how to protect themselves against future crimes.

The City's Crime Prevention Specialists have been trained and certified in the areas of residential and business security as well as CPTED (Crime Prevention through Environmental Design). They review site development plans for security issues prior to construction of new buildings and facilities.

Crime Prevention Specialists are available to answer questions and provide presentations to groups of all ages, including: schools; neighborhood, senior, and business groups; volunteer organizations and others.

Crime Prevention Specialists can provide information to community members on topics such as:
