The San Leandro Police Department is looking for a few good men and women!
San Leandro Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS) are trained to perform various duties that support the department. In addition to fleet vehicle maintenance, VIPS file and scan records, enter data and assist with various office tasks. VIPS also assist with uniformed patrol at public events.
Volunteer work with the Police Department is rewarding and instructive. The San Leandro Volunteers in Police Service Program provides opportunities for residents to learn more about our community and the many ways that police personnel provide a safe environment and serve the public. At the same time, San Leandro Volunteers in Police Service contribute much needed support services that benefit our neighbors and friends. Applicants must be 18 years of age and over, in good health and available for duties four hours per week.
Volunteers in Police Service are caring, well-trained volunteers who donate their time and energy to support the San Leandro Police Department in its mission to prevent crime, provide services and create a safer environment for those who live and work within the City of San Leandro.
