Used Motor Oil
There are two ways to recycle used oil:
- Leave your used oil curbside on your recycling collection day.
Pour your used oil into 1-gallon jugs with a screw top lid. Be sure NOT to mix the oil with other fluids. Call your recycling service provider to request free containers. (If you live in the Alameda County Industries (ACI) service area you can also recycle oil filters at the curb, placed in a sealed Ziploc bag.) - Take your used oil to a collection center.
You may drop off up to 5 gallons of used motor oil per day at a certified used oil collection center and receive a $.40 per gallon refund in cash or coupons.
