Through the Community Assistance Grant Program, the City of San Leandro provides financial support to community-based nonprofit organizations whose services and programs meet San Leandro's social service needs. The City supports organizations that offer prevention education, crisis intervention and basic needs services. Funded agencies provide affordable services based upon need to individuals and families living in San Leandro.

To be eligible for City funds, applicants must:

• Qualify as a public or private nonprofit organization under California law,
• Have federal IRS tax exemption status either pending or approved,
• Serve San Leandro residents, and
• Satisfy all provisions of the City of San Leandro Community Assistance Consulting Services Agreement.

Grants are issued on a two-year grant cycle through a competitive grant process.
