San Leandro Sesquicentennial - 1872 to 2022

San Leandro is celebrating our Sesquicentennial - 150 years of city incorporation. Public events to honor this milestone will occur from March 2022 through December 2022. Each event will be subject to the current COVID-19 public health directives. 2022 is the year of flexibility and fun. Please consider joining the celebration!

Remembering the last 150 years,

Sesquicentennial Steering Committee

Text reading 2022 Time Capsule Yearbook on a torn piece of paper

We are collecting photos and stories to document everyday life in San Leandro to be included in the time capsule! Photos and stories will be compiled into a “yearbook” which will be buried with a time capsule and dug up in 2072, 50 years from now, when the city celebrates 200 years.

Photos of your family at a local park? In front of your home? Photos of you and friends at a local restaurant or at the Cherry Festival? We don’t know what life will look like in 50 years. Those everyday moments document the businesses, places, technology and community which may change by 2072! Share your moments with us as we collect images of our community for the San Leandro of the future.

To submit, please fill out the form below.  We will be collecting submissions through October 31, 2022.
