Summer Library Program
Welcome to Read Beyond the Beaten Path
Our All-Ages Summer Library Program!
June 4 - August 1, 2022
Every week this summer, we’ll introduce a new themed badge! Earn badges by reading, completing activities, or attending library programs. Earn 8 badges to get a finisher prize and invitation to one of our special finisher events.
Scroll down for how to play, badge activities, and a calendar of events!
Summer Carnival for Kids on August 6 | Murder Mystery Party for Teens on August 12 |
Plus, for every badge earned by the community this summer, The Friend of the San Leandro Library will donate $1 to Building Futures, up to $3,000 total!
How It Works:
Starting June 4, pick up an all-ages reading log at Main or Manor Library, or join and participate online using Beanstack.
Each week, choose one activity:
- Read (one book or for one hour)
- Participate in a library event
- Complete one (or more) of the activities listed below
Write down what you did to earn the badge, then bring your booklet to the Library for your badge sticker and to enter the prize drawings. If you are participating on Beanstack, complete the actions to earn the badge and enter the drawing online.
Finish 8 badges by August 1st to get a special finisher prize which includes your invitation to a special event. You can complete the Bonus Rainbow badge anytime from 6/4-8/1 for an extra entry into our prize drawing!
Did you miss a week? No problem! Just complete 8 badges by 8/1 to earn your finisher prizes and entries for the grand prize drawings.
