Free Access to the New York Times
The California State Library is hosting free online subscriptions to the New York Times for California libraries. After creating an account, you will unlock all regular newspaper content, all multimedia, and Spanish and Mandarin Chinese versions of the paper.
To access for the first time:
- Go to the New York Times website
- Click "Redeem"
- Create a New York Times account following the instructions on the screen
- Enjoy!
After redeeming the code, and creating an account, you will need use the free digital access code every time you would like to read the paper, however, you do not need to create a new account.
To access the New York Times after creating an account:
- Go to the New York Times website
- Click "Redeem"
- Underneath the black "Create Account" bar, click "Log in" and use your account information to log in for the day
- Enjoy!
