Paratransit Services
San Leandro’s city-based FLEX RIDES paratransit program provides transportation to San Leandro residents, both older adults and people 18+ with disabilities. FLEX RIDES Shuttle and FLEX RIDES on Demand offer fixed route and curb-to-curb ride options. Seating on the FLEX RIDES Shuttle is limited in order to ensure physical distancing between riders. Alameda County has a dedicated Senior Information & Assistance team available to provide information about services for older adults. This team helps individuals navigate through the systems of care and programs for elders and provides direct referrals to services. Learn more by visiting their Home page.
The Alameda County Senior Information and Assistance team provides comprehensive resource guides on many topics including Senior Housing, Senior Resources and Food and Nutrition available at their Resource Guide page.
Eden Information and Referral provides a wide range of services to assist people in obtaining information about, as well as gaining access to, community resources. Learn more about their services here, or simply dial 2-1-1, Eden Information and Referral’s free, non-emergency, confidential, 3-digit phone number and service that provides easy access to housing information, and critical health and human services. 2-1-1 operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with multi-lingual capabilities.

Spectrum Senior Meals Take Out Lunch Program:
Spectrum Senior Meal Program is now featuring fresh, hot nutritious meals for adults 60+ which are prepared each morning at Spectrum’s Hayward kitchen. Until the San Leandro Senior Community Center resumes indoor group dining, participants will continue to pick up their meal to take away. The suggested donation per meal is $4.00; no registered participant will be refused a meal due to lack of funds.

Spectrum is now partnering with SPARKL Reusables to reduce the volume of single-use containers entering the Alameda County waste stream, providing reusable takeaway containers for the meal program. Each participant will be responsible for careful usage and returning the containers to Spectrum each day to be washed and sanitized for reuse.
