Important Update
As of March 1, 2021, the San Leandro Public Library has eliminated its fee card policy. This means that any California resident can apply for and receive a San Leandro Public Library Card. To learn how to apply online, click here.
Policy
The Library issues free Library cards to anyone residing in California.
Library cardholders agree to obey the rules and regulations of the San Leandro Public Library and to abide by the borrower's agreement.
Library card and borrowing regulations may change as needed to respond to community needs.
Borrower's Agreement
The Library cardholder may borrow circulating Library materials, use the Library's Internet stations, and access electronic resources and materials.
A Library card is issued to an individual, who agrees to:
- Be the sole card user.
- Accept responsibility for any card use and fines or fees.
- Present card for transactions.
- Report missing card or address, phone, or email change.
Parents or guardians of cardholders under the age of 18 are responsible for the above.
Accessing Library Account Information
To protect our patron's privacy, Library staff require a photo ID to be shown to access a user's library account in the event that the library card is not present. A photo ID is required to access library account information without a library card present, as well as when you first sign up for your library card account.
Library Account PIN
Your library account PIN is the last four digits of the phone number you supplied when you applied for your library card. If you are unsure of your PIN, or need to update your PIN, please email the Circulation Desk for assistance.
Contact
If you need any assistance with your library account, please email Circulation or call 510-577-3970 during our Limited hours.
