Helpful Tips When Using City Parks While Public Health Orders are in Effect

 



UPDATE 4/9: Access to Marina Park and Chabot Park will be restricted Easter Sunday (April 12) and vehicle parking will be prohibited in certain areas. Refrain from using parks or trails if you are feeling ill or exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19

UPDATE 3/27: Due to EMBUD construction, vehicular access to Chabot Park (San Leandro side) is currently prohibited. Pedestrians and bicyclists may still enter. Please do not drive to Chabot Park.

  • Take short walks close to home; if you can, avoid driving to parks and recreational areas
  • Public parks are to be used for walking, running or exercising by oneself; don’t play contact sports
  • Avoid congregating in parking lots, picnic areas, playgrounds, or other areas with frequently-touched surfaces
  • Properly dispose of, or pack out your trash and recyclables as maintenance work has been significantly reduced
  • Playgrounds, benches, picnic tables and other outdoor surfaces are closed
  • Public restrooms, soap dispensers, and fountains are extremely limited
  • Consider bringing your own drinking water, soap, or hand sanitizer
  • Limit your time at public parks and recreational areas and practice social distancing
  • Report any issues via the city’s MySL Mobile311 system.
