    Join City of San Leandro and Common Vision for a talk with Rob Bennaton from UC Cooperative Extension and UCCE Bay Area Urban Ag Advisor on Sat Nov 19 from 10-11:30am at Bethel Presbyterian Church on Improving Soil Quality for the Urban Food Grower. The Improving Your Soil Quality (for Urban Food Growers) Workshop provides tools to assess urban growing soils and manage risk. It focuses on the physical, chemical and biological indicators of soil quality. Participants increase capacity to assess their soils and improve their soil quality. The workshop concludes on urban soil safety in context of heavy-metal-safe-growing in food producing - backyard farms, community, school and faith-based gardens. Please RSVP to [email protected].

  2. Circuit Launch Makerspace Fixit Clinic and Sewing Clinic (In Person)

    San Leandro residents are heartily invited to participate in the combination Fixit Clinics / Sewing Circles every 3rd Friday of the month at Circuit Launch Makerspace every 3rd Friday at Circuit Launch (just off I-80/Hegenberger Road in south Oakland.) Building resilient communities through conveying basic troubleshooting skills and celebrating repair, these events are do-it-together hands-on fix-n-learn community-based exploration and discovery workshops staffed by volunteers who generously share their time, tools and expertise to consult with you on the disassembly, troubleshooting, and repair of items.
