SAN LEANDRO, CA: The City of San Leandro and the San Leandro Arts Commission announced a new Arts & Culture Grants Program available for interested artists and invites participants to apply. Applications are currently being accepted through the extended deadline of September 15, 2021 at 11:59pm where grants will be awarded to San Leandro-based arts organizations and individual artists.

Individual artists residing in San Leandro are eligible for grants of up to $2,000, while 501c3 nonprofit organizations are eligible for grants of up to $4,000. Generally, only those organizations with a mission that includes arts or culture will be considered for funding. This year, human service organizations and other organizations providing arts programming and activities are also eligible. All arts and culture activities supported by the 2021-22 Arts and Culture Grant Program must occur within the city of San Leandro and be completed by June 30, 2022. Final reports will be due from grant recipients by July 31, 2022.  

Technical assistance is available by appointment. The City’s arts consultant will provide 1-1 assistance by phone or teleconference, depending on the needs of the applicant. Emerging from a progressive Strategic Plan for the Arts in San Leandro, the Arts Commission has developed the Arts & Culture Grants Program to support local arts organizations and artists in their efforts to create a more vibrant cultural environment in the community.
