Welcome to the Children's Library!

Looking for an exciting book, information for a school project, or a fun, enriching activity? The youth services department of the San Leandro Library is here to assist you. We offer a large collection of books and materials for infants through young adults, resources for homework and school projects, and high quality programs for the entire community.

In our children’s room, you’ll find:

  • Picture books, beginning reader books, chapter books, novels, and non-fiction
  • Bi-lingual books, and books in Spanish, Chinese and Vietnemese
  • Information for school assignments
  • Children’s videos and music
  • Audio books
  • Magazines
  • Parent/teacher resources

Our children's library includes 12 computers for kids and their families, a special area with toys and puzzles designed for younger children, and 6 tables for studying or coloring. We supply the crayons and scratch paper!
