In an effort to help prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus, the City of San Leandro facilities are closed from March 17 through April 7, 2020. These closures align with the March 16, 2020, Shelter in Place Order, issued by the Alameda County Public Health Department. For more information from the Alameda County Public Health Department, access their page here.
The Police Department lobby will be open on a limited basis, Monday through Friday from 9:00 am - 11:00 am and 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm, for essential public safety services. Should you have questions, call the Records Division at 510 577-3217. Please read the signs posted on the doors prior to entering the lobby. Only 1 person will be allowed into the lobby at a time. Online reports may be made by clicking here.
All LiveScan and other non-essential duties will be suspended. Requests for property made by the public will be handled by calling 510 577-3224 for an appointment.
Our Animal Control officer will continue to respond to emergency calls for service including dangerous dogs, sick or injured animals, removal of dead animals, and animal cruelty investigations. The City of San Leandro contracts with the Tri-City Animal Shelter for essential services which include redemption of a lost pet, and turning in a stray, sick or injured animal. For more information about their services during the Shelter in Place, click here.
All building tours, volunteer programs, ride-alongs, community events and meetings have been suspended. Although I understand the impact these changes have on our community, your health and safety are the City's number one concern. I will continue to keep you informed as we adjust our services.
The San Leandro Police mission has not changed. I know our strong community partnerships and relationships will continue to unify us during these challenging times. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
