Denise Lenz

Denise Lenz was raised in San Leandro and began her Law Enforcement career in 1995 as a Public Safety Dispatcher.  She held this position from January 1995 until May 2000 when she promoted to the Administrative Specialist Police position.  As an Administrative Specialist, more commonly known as a Station Supervisor, she had the responsibility for the direct supervision of the Jail from January 2002 until May 2009, the Communication Center from January 2002 until April 2007, and the Records Division from April 2007 through April 2009.  In 2009, she promoted to her current position as the Support Services Manager.

Manager Lenz’s Education and Professional Certificates include: POST Management Course, POST Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced Dispatch Certificate, Women’s Leadership Institute, and Standards and Training for Corrections Manager/Administrator Core.  She attended Chabot College, Las Positas College and graduated from San Leandro’s Marina High.

In 2007, Manager Lenz was the proud recipient of the Medal of Meritorious Service.  She currently volunteers for the Tri-Valley Youth Court.



Randy Brandt

Randall Brandt started his career with the San Leandro Police Department in 1996.  He has worked in the following divisions: Patrol, Traffic, and Criminal Investigations.  He has worked a variety of assignments including: SWAT, Tactical Unit, and Force Options Instructor.             

His education and Professional Certificates include:  POST Advanced Certificate, POST Leadership Management Training, and he has attended college.

His current assignments include Patrol Watch Commander and the Tactical Operations Commander.

Robert McManus was born and raised in San Leandro and joined the San Leandro Police Department as a Police Explorer in 1988, and appointed as a full time Police Officer in 1991.  He has worked in Patrol, Tactical Unit, Bicycle Unit, Criminal Investigations, and Administrative Services Division.  He has experience as a Crime Scene Evidence Technician, School Resource Officer, Evidence Response Team (ERT), Critical Incident Stress Management/Peer Support Team Leader, Police Explorer Advisor, and Field Training Officer.             

His education and professional certificates include:  POST Advanced Certificate, POST Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute, and Alameda County Leadership Program.   He is a former board member of the San Leandro Police Officers’ Association and has served as a committee member for the CA Peace Officers’ Association Training and Legislative and Law Committees.  He is also a proud participant in the Police Unity Tour.

He is currently assigned to the Patrol Division as a Watch Commander.


 

Ron Clark

Ron Clark began his law enforcement career with the San Leandro Police Department as a Police Cadet in 1984. He became a Reserve Police Officer in 1988 and entered the Police Academy in 1990 as a full-time Police Officer.

He has worked in a number of divisions, including: Patrol, Criminal Investigations, Information Technology/City Manager’s Office, and Professional Standards. He has held a variety of assignments during his career, including: Crime Scene Technician, Evidence Response Team, DUI Enforcement, School Resource Officer, Crimes Against Persons Detective, Technology Project Manager, Departmental Instructor, Tactical Unit Supervisor, and Administrative Sergeant. In 2007, he proudly received the Medal of Meritorious Service.

His training and education includes holding a POST Advanced Certificate and a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice Management. He is currently assigned to the Patrol Division as a Watch Commander where he manages the Department’s fleet of vehicles along with all technology within the department.

 


 

Joe Molettieri

Joe Molettieri started his career with the San Leandro Police Department in March 1997.  He worked as a Police Officer from 1997-2011 before being promoted to Police Sergeant in 2011 and Police Lieutenant in May 2015.

He has worked in a variety of assignments including:  Patrol, Crime Scene Technician, Criminal Investigation Division, Background Investigator, Hostage Negotiator, Field Training Officer, Traffic Division, and Vice President of the Police Officer’s Association.  He was promoted to Police Sergeant in 2011 and served for 4 years until he was promoted to Lieutenant on May 11, 2015.  He is a graduate of the Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute and is very interested in continuing his education to obtain his degree.

He is currently assigned to the Professional Standards & Training Unit

 


 

Isaac Benabou

Isaac Benabou started his law enforcement career in 1991 as a Police Reserve Officer for the Oakland Police Department.  He attended the Los Medanos Police Academy where he proudly graduated in the top 5 of his class. 

He joined the San Leandro Police Department in March 1994, and has entered his 24th year proudly serving this community.  He was promoted to Sergeant in December 2011.  He has worked in a variety of assignments including:  Patrol, Bike Officer, Field Evidence Technician, Field Training Officer, Evidence Response Team, Traffic, Criminal investigations, and SWAT Team Engineer.  He has been an active member of the San Leandro Police Officer’s Association, where he served on the Executive Board for 17 years in the roles of Treasurer, Vice President, and President for the last 3 years.  He has been very instrumental in the implementation of our Volunteers in Policing Program. In 2016, Isaac attended and graduated from the Police Executive Research Course in Boston, MA..                    

Isaac earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice in 2009 and has his Advanced Post Certificate.

He currently serves as the department’s Press information Officer and commander of the Criminal Investigations Division.


 

Scott Koll

Scott Koll started his career with the San Leandro Police Department in June of 2015.  Prior to joining the team, Scott worked for the City of Roseville’s Police Department for the last 10 years in their Community Services Officer unit, Professional Standards unit, and finally as their Property and Evidence Supervisor, overseeing the CSI and Property units, where he developed and managed that units’ business matters and the budget.  Outside that role, Scott was very active in city government business, serving on multiple functional teams, as well as helping the city manage some of its different projects.  Also in that capacity, Scott has written policies, tracked and advocated for legislation, and developed community outreach programs for area youth through the national Police Activities League local affiliate.

Scott holds two bachelor’s degrees and is pursuing his MBA currently.  He has his POST Supervisory Core certificate and has taken classes in contract management.  Scott also holds a certification in Project Management from California State University—Sacramento.

Scott is our Police Business Manager, and he is assigned to managing our police department budget, multiple grants, and many projects.  Additionally, he is responsible for managing our crime prevention and emergency services units.


 

Ted Henderson

Lieutenant Ted Henderson joined the San Leandro Police Department in 1995 after graduating from the Napa Valley College Police Academy. 

During his career, he has worked in a variety of assignments including being an Evidence Technician, Field Training Officer, Traffic Enforcement Officer, Canine Handler, and a Vice/Narcotics detective.  He has also served as a member of the Evidence Response Team and as a team leader for the Hostage Negotiation Team. 

Ted was promoted to the rank of sergeant in 2009 and supervised the Crimes Against Persons Investigations Unit until he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in July 2015. 

He is currently assigned to the Patrol Division as a Watch Commander.
